A young boy tells us all about a normal day in Mexico, from the delicious breakfast all the way to bedtime when they say, “Buenas Noches!” The boy gets a besito (kiss) from his mother and hops on a bus to school. He plays with his amigos and then has a snack of pan dulce (pastry) with his abuela (grandmother). After a bath and brushing his teeth, it is time to snuggle up for some dulces sueños (sweet dreams).
I grew up in Mexico as a child, and I can indeed verify that this is exactly like a normal day in Mexico! What a sweet trip down memory lane! And now I’m craving some pan dulce. haha!
In the board book, children are trying to bake little cakes, but the kitty keeps getting in the way! They get out all the ingredients, and mix the salt, flour, and baking powder. Kitty tries to spill the flour! They add butter and sugar. Maybe a little sugar gets on their hands and they eat it. The eggs are accidentally broken on the floor, and kitty licks up some of the egg! The children mix in the milk and vanilla, and the cakes are ready to bake. They add a delicious frosting and it’s time for tea!
This is such a cute little book! The text is very simple and short, just right for tiny readers. The whole book has such a soothing and calming atmosphere, and the antics of the kitty are so hilarious!
When the babies get dirty, it’s time for a bath. Little elephants get splashed with water from their parent elephant’s trunk. Parent lions lick the fur of the lion cubs to get them clean. And human babies have a bubble bath!
I love the cute artwork in this book! Every page is so colorful and fun. This would make the perfect gift for little babies and toddlers!
This knitting book would be perfect for a beginner, with simple patterns that only require one type of stitch. From easy patterns like a baby bib up to intermediate and more experienced patterns like a baby cardigan, this book has a variety of cute projects both small and large. If you only have a few hours, you could knit up some sweet baby booties in a flash! Or if you have time for a larger project, you could try one of the adorable sweater and hat combinations.
With clear instructions and photos to illustrate the stitches, this book is easy to follow and full of information.
I really like the beautiful colors and sweet details on each knitting project!
