5 out of 5 stars

A little donkey makes a human friend, Ismael, and they enjoy the peace of the countryside together. But one day Ismael doesn’t come back, and the donkey is saddened wondering where her friend could have gone.

This picture book is inspired by true events, when the author was in quarantine for months during the Covid-19 pandemic and was unable to visit his donkey friend in the country. The story is sweet and emotional, and an adorable animal friendship that will tug at your heart.

I loved the soft illustrations with attractive colors and broad country scenes. The art style is absolutely beautiful!
