Charity Closure

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that the Books for MKs charity will be closed down.  We just don’t have the donations coming in to support the charity, and no time to do extra fundraising.
The GoFundMe page has been closed, and no more new donations will be accepted. All previous donations have already gone to buying books for the missionary kids. (The last of the available funds have just been used for a few final gift cards to various missionary families.) 
The last 6 years have been a wonderful experience, full of God’s love and the joy of connecting with missionaries all over the world.
Thank you for being a part of this bookish ministry, and allowing me to minister to your children through books!
I will still continue to write and post book reviews and bookish videos, and will continue to pray for each of the missionary families that have been part of this ministry.
 Keep reading and stay curious!  Stay tuned for more bookish content and reviews still to come!

MKs in Cambodia

These MKs in Cambodia love to read together! They just ordered a whole bunch of books through the Books for MKs ministry, and they are reading “G is for Georgia“.  This older sister enjoys reading to her younger brothers, and it’s a way for the whole family to connect with books.

MKs in Cambodia Love to Read!

These Missionary Kids in Cambodia received some books from Books for MKs and are reading the Mandie series, Star Wars, and Dr. Seuss.  These are some of my favorites too! I loved reading the Mandie series when I was a little girl, and it’s so fun to see another generation enjoying these stories.

These kids have excellent taste in books, and I love seeing the big smiles on their faces.  It’s so important for children to find books they enjoy and encourage their love of reading!

MKs in Argentina Receive Books

These MKs in Argentina have received some books and they love to read! Books for MKs sent them a gift card to use at Better World Books.com and they got to choose which books they wanted to order.

It’s so exciting for a child to be able to choose their own reading material, especially for a missionary kid who lives overseas and does not have daily access to books in their own language.

This Missionary Kid in Bulgaria received some books from Books for MKs and is reading the Castle Glower series by Jessica Day George!  I like this series too!

This girl has excellent taste in books, and I love seeing the big smile on her face.  It’s so important for children to find books they enjoy and encourage their love of reading!

MK Christmas Books!

photo(2)This week I’ve sent out $400 worth of books to over 60 missionary kids in Israel, Ukraine, Mexico, Japan, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Malawi, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Romania, Philippines, Hungary, Thailand, Peru, Swaziland, and Argentina. 

Merry Christmas, kids!  I hope you love all the new books, and I know it will inspire you to read more and enjoy reading!

To thank me for all the books I’ve sent them over the years, a sweet missionary family in Japan just sent me this lovely Japanese lantern that depicts traditional cormorant fishing. So beautiful, and I will cherish it all my life! There’s also a little bell that hangs inside. So sweet!
I only wish I could read the Japanese on the labels. Who reads Japanese? What does it say?
