This coloring book is really cute! It has whimsical designs to color and much thicker paper than regular coloring books, so that you could use ink or marker. However, despite the thicker paper, the book warns that the ink might bleed through the paper, so there is a blank test page at the end specifically for testing your ink or marker to see if it bleeds through.
Despite the name of the book, the author has a little page of coloring tips at the beginning, saying that she prefers to use colored pencils.

I love that the description tells you the Latin name for the plant, and a little something about the history or uses or ecosystem of the plant.

I am so impressed with this beautiful book! The book is divided into sections for each season of the year, with bright green colors for spring, and warm reds and yellows for autumn, and cool blues and grays for winter.

This coloring book includes inspirational sayings and affirmations to encourage you while you color! My favorite one was “I Feed My Mind with Good Things” with a design of books to color.

There are a ton of different designs of everything from flowers and singing cacti to random swirls and lines. There are jam jars, sailing boats, and people sleeping under mountains of blankets. I love that it’s a random collection of things from page to page, so you are sure to find something that inspires you to color and relax!

This whole book is so bright and attractive! Most of the pages are just random swirls of color. Some of the pages are very obviously flowers, but it would be interesting to challenge yourself to make it look like something other than flowers, or add little details of animals and insects into the scene as well.

I am so impressed with this cool watercolor set! As you paint, hidden designs are revealed on the page. This whole book is full of pages to watercolor! There are instructions for how to wash your paintbrushes, how to create different effects with the paint, and how to blend colors.

This is such a creative book! It really gets your imagination fired up. I love the cute designs of the coloring pages. Some are peaceful beach scenes, or funny pets, or adorable otters. There are so many to color in and get your creativity flowing!

This hilarious book of jokes has partial illustrations that you can doodle on and fill in the rest of the picture with your own imaginative drawings!
I really liked that the author has included a “Humor Code” in the beginning of the book, that includes rules like “Don’t make jokes at other’s expense.” I love that these jokes are clean and remind us that we can still be funny without hurting, teasing, or bullying others. Continue reading →
