Send a bookmark along with the donated books!

With all this reading going on, you can never have too many bookmarks, and dog-eared pages are an insult to the knowledge and beauty contained within a book.  You can print out your own bookmarks or make some out of fabric and ribbon! Below are links to some great tutorials on making your own bookmarks.

Giving a missionary kid a bookmark along with their new books is another special way to show that we care!

The Inspiration

I grew up in Mexico as a young Missionary Kid.  I was a voracious reader when I was a kid on the mission field. Every birthday and Christmas, the only thing I asked for was more books!
Of course in Mexico, there weren’t any libraries with English books where I could satisfy that appetite for the written word. So I was always looking for more books, and I could never get enough. I ended up re-reading the same ones dozens of times.

The Lord put it on my heart to donate books to kids on the mission field. It means a lot to me personally, especially from my own experiences as an MK of feeling sort of cut off from the English-speaking world, Books help to bridge that gap, and lets MKs (and parents) know that they are not alone out there.
