Ami is excited to join the Escape Room game with the other kids assigned as her teammates. When they enter the game, they are told to find the Answer and save the world. Their first puzzle is in a dusty attic filled with antique technology. They move through various rooms, confronted with impossible puzzles in a massive library, a Mayan tomb, a derelict shopping mall, and a spaceship. In every room, there are mysterious clues that could lead to life-threatening danger or… escape.

I loved the mystery in this book! Every room is so strange and full of weird enigmas. The details are really intriguing as you begin to put some of the clues together. I loved how the characters work together to figure out the puzzles and codes in each room, not just to get out alive from the dangerous rooms, but also to figure out the ultimate Answer that will save the world!

There is a massive plot twist at the end that left me reeling! Now I’m rethinking the entire book with that new information and seeing how there were some details that foreshadowed the ending, but those little things seemed too random at the time to make sense of. Now it all makes sense after that plot twist! So brilliant!

I really love that the book begins with a quote from G.K. Chesterton, one of my favorite authors: “The true object of all human life is play.”

This book is so clever and exciting, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
