5 out of 5 stars

This book teaches kids about Ancient Greece, covering subjects like the Greek alphabet, their clothing, sports, science, military, agriculture, and literature. We learn that the Greeks developed the early forms of geometry and used it in their architecture. Their military were expert seafarers. They built elaborate temples and statues for their gods. There is even a big map of the Acropolis, and we get to see an outline of a traditional Greek theater building! They were governed by city-states and pioneered ideas of democracy. We learn about Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato and their views on education. And we also learn about the Olympic Games and the feats of strength and skill in their sports.

The coolest thing about this book is that every other page is a huge fold-out map with extra info and illustrations! There are hidden treasures of knowledge all through this book!

I really liked the design for this book, and the way the information is presented in small boxes so that you can get a lot of facts very quickly. It’s so interesting to learn about this era in history!
