Let’s Count Georgia
by Christopher Robbins, Volha Kaliaha (Illustrations)
Children will learn to count up to ten with these special things about the State of Georgia! The Masters Golf Tournament, the Braves baseball team, and those famous Georgia peaches all make an appearance, along with gators, oak trees, dogwood trees, and old Civil War cannons. Some of the places mentioned are Tybee Island, Jekyll Island, and historic downtown Savannah.
I loved this book about my home state of Georgia! It’s so fun to teach my little nieces about these famous things and places around Georgia, and they get to practice their numbers too.
I love the colorful illustrations and cute designs. Every page is so attractive, and the beautiful trees and beaches are wonderful!

G Is for Georgia
by Christopher Robbins, Volha Kaliaha (Illustrations)
4 out of 5 stars
This ABC Primer teaches children about places and things in the State of Georgia while they practice their alphabet. Some of the places mentioned are the Blue Ridge Mountains, the city of Atlanta, the Etowah Indian Mounds, Jekyll Island, historic Westville, the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, Red Top Mountain, Savannah, Tybee Island, University of GA, Yonah Mountain and Vogel State Park.
Other famous Georgian things included are the Atlanta Falcons football team, the Georgia Aquarium, dogwood trees, and of course our famous Georgia peaches!
I love that many of the things included make you want to find out more and look up information about these historic sites. This book ends up being educational beyond just toddlers learning their alphabet, because it inspires you to do some research and find out about all these interesting places!
However, I wasn’t sure why they included the I-285 Interstate that winds around Atlanta. Why is a highway notable? I had never heard of the Lunchbox Museum. And they included “quilting” and “white-tailed deer” but those are not unique to Georgia. I guess I just don’t understand some of these choices.
I love the cute illustrations! Every page is so colorful and bright, sure to be attractive to young kids and capture their attention.

Learning the ABCs with the names of famous car models makes it more fun! D is for the Delorean, and P is for Porsche. J is for Jeep and H is for the Hudson Hornet. Going way back into the past with the Ford Model-T and every car in between, this book is sure to capture the attention of your car-loving preschooler.
I love the cool illustrations! Every page is so colorful and bright, and the designs of the cars are very recognizable.

G Is for Gardening
by Ashley Marie Mireles (Goodreads Author), Volha Kaliaha (Illustrations)
5 out of 5 stars
This book will get you excited about working in the garden as your preschooler learns the ABCs! First you need all the right tools; G is for gloves, W is for wheelbarrow, and T is for trowel. Then you need to learn about the types of plants; V is for vine, F is for flowers, and O is for orchard. And you need to learn about how to properly care for a garden; M is for mulch, S is for seeds, and Y is for yard design. Don’t forget some little friends who might visit your garden (B is for bees)!
There were actually a couple of words that I had to look up some more information about, like “aeration” to aerate the soil, and “xeriscape” which is a landscaping style for arid areas with cacti and stones that need very little water. Even the adults will learn something about gardening in this book!
I loved the beautiful illustrations and the cute characters who are working in the garden. Every page is colorful and full of growing things!
