Raccoon wants to bake a cake, so he walks over to Fox’s house to borrow some eggs. But Fox is trying to repair her roof, and needs a ladder. So they walk together over to Badger’s house to borrow a ladder. Badger is trying to solve a crossword puzzle with a clue about honey, so they join Crow in looking for Bear down by the river. Bear will know the answer to a clue about honey. Bear is fishing, but the fish are not biting. Will the friends ever manage to complete all their tasks? Only if they work together!

This is such a cute story! I loved the way each task kept piling on top of each other until the friends finally retrace their steps and do their tasks together. They realize they have spent a perfect day together doing fun things and helping each other. There is something so satisfying about the conclusion to all the tasks.

It’s so sweet how the friends all take time to appreciate the activities they are doing with their friends. They just really enjoy spending time together!

The illustrations are so beautiful! I love the graceful style of the artwork and the lovely colors. The ink style has such delicate little strokes outlining each leaf and blade of grass. There are so many pretty details in the background of each scene that make the art really special. I had to stop and look at some of the pages for a little minute to appreciate all the details!
