The Hotel for Bugs
by Suzy Senior
5 out of 5 stars
When the new hotel opens, all the bugs are ready to relax by the pool, eat the delicious buffet, and get a steam at the spa. But when a slug tries to book a room, the manager points out that it is a Hotel for Bugs, not slugs! One little bug guest protests, and says that all bugs are pretty weird and different, so they should be able to include a slug in their group. The manager realizes how silly she has been, and invites the slug to take the most luxurious room in the hotel!
I loved this sweet book! It’s so cute and fun, and it has a wonderful message about inclusion and kindness. I was cheering for that little bug who stood up and insisted that they should all have equal treatment no matter how weird and different they might be. It takes courage to speak out, and it made this story so inspiring!
The illustrations are so hilarious and adorable! I loved the designs for all the little bug creatures. They use thimbles as punch bowls, and a teacup for a hot tub. Since the carpet is grass, some of them eat the carpet. It’s so imaginative!

The World Is a Family
by Rosie Adams
A fox and cub see how other animals in the world engage in the same activities and behaviors, making them all similar throughout the world. Other animals play, rest, share their food, and explore together. Best of all, when you are part of a family, you have a place to belong.
This is such a sweet book! I liked the calming rhymes and the simple story. The artwork has soothing colors and delicate lines. Each page has wide scenery with beautiful animals and birds playing or sleeping. In the background you can see a town by the seaside and ships going by.
This would be the perfect book to read at bedtime because it has a calm atmosphere.

The Eyebrows of Doom
by Steve Smallman
Dave the bear is having a lovely afternoon until two evil eyebrows attack him and take over his mind! They make him do mean things like eat up all the camper’s food, and then they rush off to create havoc at the beach and at the zoo. They take over a seagull named Ron, and make him poop on people’s heads. The eyebrows jump on Ned the porcupine and he pokes the zoo guests with his spikes. Can nothing stop them? What will the eyebrows do next?
This book was so hilarious! Every page is sillier and funnier than the last, and I was giggling through the whole thing. The story is completely wild and ridiculous, and I loved every second of it!
The illustrations make the story even funnier, because the animals look so silly with these big hairy eyebrows jumping on their face. I loved the colorful art work and the minimalistic style.
What a great book! This one is sure to have you and the kids laughing!
