Fox tells his friends that he knows the superhero, Superturtle. He tells them how he knows Superturtle’s secret flying techniques. But it is a lie. Fox’s friends get very excited and want to meet Superturtle. Squirrel thinks she can try to fly too. All of Fox’s lies are putting his friends in danger! Can Fox admit the truth before Squirrel gets hurt?
I really appreciated the good moral messages in this book about the importance of truthfulness. There is one page where the story says that all the attention from his friends made Fox “feel important” at first. I love the depth of this story, and the way it explores Fox’s emotions surrounding the lies. He begins to worry that he has told too many lies and he feels ashamed.
But then when Fox sees that his lies are putting people in danger, he admits the truth and apologizes. His friends “scold” him, but they do forgive him. Fox promises never to lie again. The consequences just aren’t worth it. I love the healthy way that this subject was dealt with, from the consequences to apologizing and forgiving.
The story itself is fun and interesting! I love that they include the important moral messages without it slowing down the pace of the story. It’s excellent story telling and is sure to capture the attention of little readers!
The illustrations are so cute! I love the beautiful woodland scenery and the cute animal characters. Every page is colorful and pretty!

Realmente aprecié los buenos mensajes morales en este libro sobre la importancia de la veracidad. Hay una página donde la historia dice que toda la atención de sus amigos hizo que Zorro “se sintiera importante” al principio. Me encanta la profundidad de esta historia y la forma en que explora las emociones de Zorro en torno a las mentiras. Comienza a preocuparse por haber dicho demasiadas mentiras y se siente avergonzado. Pero luego, cuando Zorro ve que sus mentiras están poniendo a la gente en peligro, admite la verdad y se disculpa. Sus amigos lo “regañan”, pero lo perdonan. Zorro promete no volver a mentir nunca más. Las consecuencias simplemente no valen la pena. Me encanta la forma en que se trató este tema, desde las consecuencias hasta disculparse y perdonar.
