The Think-Ups
by Claire Alexander (Goodreads Author)
Kiki and Anna are playing a “Think Up” game. Whatever they imagine can come true! Kiki thinks up a bunch of bunnies. Anna thinks up a moose. But soon the animals are out of control! The “Think Up” game has let their imaginations run wild, and the house is a disaster. How will they ever get things back to normal again?
This is such a cute book! I love how imaginative the girls are, and how their “Think Ups” get out of control so quickly. I like that the two girls have a little bit of a power struggle between them, since they each want to play different things. But eventually they resolve their differences, and learn to play together with respect and kindness.
The soft artwork is so beautiful! The illustrations bring so much energy into the story, and I love the bright colors.
The coolest thing about this book is the flaps on every other page. It’s like a smaller half-page to turn. On the first part of the flap is the normal room, and when you turn the flap you can see the “Think Ups” becoming real. This is such a clever way to tell the story! The artwork lines up so perfectly with the page turns, and it’s really fun to see how the imaginations of the girls come to life.
