I was shocked and unhappy to see the F-word and the S-word on the very first page. You would think that a journal about parenting would at least be PG. There is profanity found in many other places as well. I think I counted over 25 nasty words in the whole book. I did not appreciate that, and I think it’s very out of place in this type of book.

This journal has mostly blank-lined pages with funny quotes about parenting. There are quotes from famous people about being a mother, as well as funny stories about parenting mishaps. There are also journaling prompts that ask questions about your favorite thing your child does to make you laugh, or the worst mess your child has made.
There are cute drawings of moms with their babies and toddlers with funny captions.
Some of the jokes are inappropriate though, and even the illustrations sometimes depict nudity. Not just nude children, but nude mothers who have it all hanging out while they breastfeed with no shirt on at all. I mean, I know it happens (hopefully in private), but is that really the best subject for an illustration in a journal?

I’m going to through the whole book with a Sharpie and censure out the bad words.

Personal Disclaimer: I am NOT a mother, nor do I have any plans to become a mom in the near future. This is a gift for my sister-in-law, who is the lovely mom of my two beautiful nieces.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a free and honest review. All the opinions stated here are my own true thoughts, and are not influenced by anyone.
