Today I was invited to speak at a meeting with the Jane Austen Society of North America at the Georgia Chapter in Atlanta! It was a wonderful group of people, all excited to talk about classic literature and Jane Austen.

I’ve seen some people doing a “Dance Recess” video on their BookTube channels, and I wanted to join in, but really…. I don’t dance. Nope. So singing is the best you’ll get from me. If the point of these “Recess” videos is to make a fool of yourself, then I have succeeded! Especially when I forgot the lyrics, and had to ask my sister off-camera.

World Book Night U.S. is a celebration of books and reading held on April 23, when 25,000 passionate volunteers across America give a total of half a million books within their communities to those who don’t regularly read.
I did not win NaNoWriMo this year, and I am thrilled about it! People talk about failure as if it is this horrible thing, but failure is one of the best tools for learning and growing. I am a Proud Failure!

Both of these gorgeous stores are full of fancy couches and comfy chairs before the fireplaces, nifty nooks and secret out-of-the-way rooms, piled high with beautiful books, some old and rare, some new and shiny, more general bookiness than can be comprehended by the mind of man!
It’s book heaven! I visited book heaven on earth, and I didn’t buy a book. I did meet the owner of one, the actual Book Lady herself, and she was very sweet and gave me the run of the store. If you are ever in Savannah, you should visit these two lovely book havens!
