5 out of 5 stars

Peg finds an egg in the field and decides to help it to hatch. She warns off a dog. She keeps the egg warm and dry. She waits and waits for the egg to hatch. Becoming impatient, she gives the edge a little nudge and discovers that the egg is not all that it seems. She has made a very silly mistake!

I loved this book about learning to laugh at yourself when you make mistakes! Although it might be embarrassing, mistakes happen to everyone, and you have to be able to let go of those embarrassed or angry feelings, and find the humor in every situation. This is such a great exploration of those mixed-up emotions that come with silly mistakes, teaching children to manage those emotions with laughter.

I loved the cute illustrations! Peg is such a hilarious character, and her funny little expressions made me laugh. This whole book is completely adorable!
