I remember loving this book when I was a little girl! So cute!

I really like the simple rhymes in the text and the joy in the illustrations as the children have fun in the sunshine. This book is full of golden sunshine and delight in the simple things of life.
The Sailor Dog (A Little Golden Book)

Scuppers was born at sea, but he grew up on a farm. He travels far and away to get back to the sea and go sailing on his own. He is shipwrecked and has to repair his damaged ship. Scuppers doesn’t mind storms, as long as he can continue sailing on the sea.
This book is so cute! I love that there are a lot of details about Scuppers’ hat and coat and spyglass, etc… and how he organizes his cabin onboard the ship. Adorable!
The Poky Little Puppy

The little puppies keep getting into trouble for digging holes under the fence, but the poky little puppy is always lagging behind. When the puppies are punished with no dessert, the poky little puppy sneaks in to eat the dessert by himself while the others are asleep.
I remember loving this book when I was a little girl. I always laughed at the silly puppies! I don’t know why I thought it was so hilarious, but I remember just laughing and laughing! It still makes me smile.
Margaret Wise Brown’s The Whispering Rabbit (Little Golden Book)

The little rabbit yawns a very big yawn and a bumblebee flies into his throat. The bumblebee falls asleep in there, and the little rabbit can only whisper with the bumblebee blocking his throat. If the rabbit can make a small sound, the bumblebee might wake up. Rabbit tries all kinds of different sounds, until finally he finds just the right type of sound to wake up the bumblebee.
I love the whimsy in this book! It’s so cute and magical!
Katie the Kitten (Little Golden Book)

Katie the Kitten plays and romps around the house. She follows a toad outside, and tries to catch a bird up a tree. She falls into a pail of water. She eats up her dinner, and finally falls fast asleep.
This is such a good book for beginning readers. The text is very simple and easy to follow for new readers. The illustrations are adorable!
I’m a Truck (Little Golden Book)

Big Blue Bill is a freight truck. He meets all kinds of vehicles on the road- tractors, ambulances, logging trucks, bulldozers, garbage trucks, fire engines, and pickups. He loves saying hello to his friends as they travel the roads.
This is a cute book, and the illustrations are very colorful! I think boys would enjoy this book for all the different types of vehicles. It’s easy to read for young readers too!
I Am A Bunny (Little Golden Book)

A little bunny tells us all his favorite things to do through the seasons. He likes to watch the birds in the spring. He watches insects and toads by the pond. He likes to watch the snow in the winter, and then curl up all cozy and warm in his little den.
I love the pretty illustrations in this book! Every page is so beautiful and sweet!
I Can Fly

A little girl imagines that she can fly like a bird, moo like a cow, swim like a fish, and hoot like an owl. She can be anything in her imagination!
I love that there is a little song at the back of the book with sheet music, so that you can sing along. The little girl looks so free and jubilant in the illustrations! Adorable!

I love the beautiful illustrations in this book! The style is so delightfully old-fashioned.

I love the illustrations for this classic story! Goldilocks has such a funny look on her face. I remember loving this book when I was a little girl! The text is simple and concise, just right for young readers.
