In this board book, children tell about their favorite things about being in a family. Hugs and cuddles, playing together, and eating chocolate chip pancakes are the best things! But the best of them all is family love.
An adorable rabbit family illustrate all the best things about families as they go on vacation together, kiss a boo-boo, plant flowers, make a blanket fort, and read together at bedtime.

I love the cute illustrations! The rabbit family are so sweet, and I like colorful artwork on each page. This is such a comfy little book!

5 out of 5 stars

In this board book, children list all their favorite things about reading. They love to pick out their favorite book, look at the pictures, turn the page, and cuddle with family while reading. Even falling asleep while reading is the best!
The mouse loves looking at the pictures in his book. A lion and bear like to hear the funny voices and sounds in a book with audio buttons. A monkey family read together at bedtime until the little monkey falls asleep.

I love that this book celebrates reading and encourages kids to read more. Books about books are such a beautiful thing, teaching children about the importance and power of the written word.

I love the cute illustrations! The animal characters are so sweet, and I like colorful artwork on each page. This is such a cozy little book!

If You're Happy and You Know It by Hazel Quintanilla

If You’re Happy and You Know It (Hazel Q Nursery Rhymes)

5 out of 5 stars

This board book is perfect for singing along, clapping your hands, stomping your feet, and smiling big if you KNOW you are happy! The animal characters in various habitats sing along with us, clapping koala paws, stomping big kangaroo feet, and smiling wildly enthusiastic smiles.

The animal characters are so cute! Those big eyes are adorable, and I love the way the art style shows their fur all fuzzy and soft.

Even as an adult, I was singing along, so you know kids would enjoy singing and dancing with the book too. You just can’t help but smile when you read/sing with this sweet book!

Rock-A-Bye Baby by Hazel Quintanilla

5 out of 5 stars

This board book is perfect for a bedtime sing-along, as animal parents rock their babies to sleep in the trees. A sloth parent rocks their little baby, but when the bough breaks, they go tumbling together to the forest floor! Unhurt and laughing, they cuddle together at the end of the song.

This book literally made me giggle at the end. The sloth baby is just so adorable! I was actually yawning while reading this, because the sloths look so peaceful and relaxed.

I love the cute illustrations, and the way the art style makes the animals fur look soft and fuzzy. This whole book is so delightful!

Cultured Donuts by Chloe Tyler

Cultured Donuts: Take a Bite Out of Art History
by Chloe Tyler

5 out of 5 stars

Exploring the styles of 16 famous artists, the author creates a portrait of a sprinkle donut in each of their signature styles. There is a scientific sketch with the dimensions of the donut to mimic Da Vinci’s technical drawings. A donut soars through the clouds as if Michelangelo had painted it on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The lights and shadows of the donut are brought to life in a sketch in Rembrandt’s style. The donut floats with water lilies in Monet’s Impressionist style. Van Gogh’s bright colors and bold strokes bring a special energy to the donut. The tiny dots of Seurat’s Pointillism, Mucha’s vines and decorative leaves, Klimt’s decadent gold leaf, and Picasso’s geometric shapes all take their turn to express the concept of a donut. We get a donut for Georgia O’Keefe, Salvador Dali, Pollock, and Basquiat, and finally the author herself does a self-portrait of herself in her art studio with the famous donut in hand!

I loved learning about all the different artists in this book! We get a short bio of their life, how their work was received during their lifetime, and the main elements that gave them their signature style. There is a glossary at the back of the book explaining some of the art terms, and there is even a little how-to guide that explains the best way to mimic those styles and explore with your own artistic style.

This whole book is a complete delight! It’s refreshing and fun, and full of respect and admiration for the great artists of history. It’s so important to learn from the history of those who have come before and know that we are standing on the shoulders of giants.

I’m not even an artist and I found this incredibly inspiring!
